OMRON gives insight into new dedicated robotics organization

So, OMRON has decided to launch a shiny new dedicated robotics organization, and how nice for them. Because clearly, what we need in 2023 is more robots elbowing their way into the workforce, leaving the rest of us to scratch our heads and wonder where our careers went. Oh, poor Susan from accounting—she thought she was just a couple of promotions away from that corner office, but instead, it turns out she’s a mere footnote in the company’s transition plan to a fully automated future where her job is now performed by a machine with more algorithms than empathy.

Let’s not kid ourselves; the only “insight” we’re going to get from OMRON is how quickly they can replace human workers with shiny metal arms that don’t need coffee breaks. Not that the folks at OMRON care; their robots can churn out reports and assemble products faster than Susan can form coherent thoughts about her diminishing importance. Who needs humans with all those fancy sensors and AI capabilities lining the floors of factories? Meanwhile, Susan will have plenty of time to scroll through LinkedIn, desperately trying to figure out how to pivot her skills to something like… interpretive dance?

At this rate, the only thing “dedicated” about this organization will be how relentless they are in steamrolling the dreams of human workers. Good luck keeping up, Susan. The robots aren’t waiting for you to catch your breath.
